Orion Mine Finance is a private capital division of Orion, which is focused on investing in mining companies through a combination of debt, equity and royalties. We see a seismic shift in demand for metals driven by energy transition, and we believe that our group is well positioned to capitalize on this trend.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Providing support to the investment process, including preparation of presentations and memos to Orion’s investment committee, management committee, limited partners, and portfolio companies;
• Supporting portfolio managers and investment managers in counterparty profiling, project assessment, deal analysis, due diligence, and transaction execution;
• Representing Orion at conferences and meetings, interacting with portfolio companies as well as potential targets. Note, work-related travel may be required;
• Sourcing new investment opportunities;
• Leading project-based initiatives such as targeting analysis, sector or country analysis, and cold calling.
• Preparing company valuations and financial models;
• Monitoring existing investments for past and projected performance and prepare/update reports; and

Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Keen interest in the mining sector.
• Collaborative, reliable, proactive teammate with high emotional intelligence;
• 2-4 years of work experience in finance industry (preferably investment banking or equity research), during which time, candidate developed strong financial analysis skills;
• Exceptional judgment, attention to detail and integrity are critical; and

Salary:

• $125,000 to $200,000 per annum, plus benefits and discretionary bonus, depending on the candidate’s experience and performance.
