Communications Intern

Pyxis Partners, a Washington, DC based health advocacy consulting firm, is seeking aCommunications Internto join our team. The Communications Intern will work on a wide variety of communications projects and activities that support Pyxis Partners and its clients, and includes both internal and external communications. This position reports to the Senior Director, Communications at Pyxis Partners. Pyxis Partners works at the intersection of policy, advocacy and engagement to advance access, equity and affordability of health care for all.

Qualifications:

●Must be currently enrolled in a four-year journalism/communications program, journalism/communications graduate program, or be a recent journalism/communications graduate

●Interest in or experience with corporate communications, marketing, public relations

●Able to work in a fast-paced environment, problem solve, and prioritize competing requests

●Attentive to detail and committed to delivering high-quality work products

●Able to work independently and possesses strong organizational skills

●Able to collaborate and work with a diverse team

●Strong research and technology skills

●Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiastic, willing to learn and enjoys a team-based culture

Anticipated Start Date:September 2023

What You Will Do:

Interns at Pyxis Partners perform a variety of tasks that support our work with clients in the health field and for the firm. Your coreresponsibilitiesworking in conjunction with the Senior Director, Communications and communications team are:

●Internal communications

●External communications activities for firm and clients

●Writing for social media, earned media, articles, website

●Proofing and editing a variety of communications materials

●Participate in communications planning activities

●Participate in both internal and external communications meetings

Applying

This is a part-time, hybrid position, 20-24 hours per week, Tuesday-Thursday (any combination of these days for a total of up to 24 hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.), and the hourly rate is $17.00.
