About You
You have a passion for growing organizations through the implementation of strategic partnerships across a range of different industries. You (ideally) have experience at a leading brand management agency or consulting firm where your main role was helping clients define and execute their strategic growth and marketing initiatives through cross-industry/cross-sector collaborations.
You have experience in the gaming and/or sports industries. You are skilled in translating complex partnership ideation processes into actionable responsibilities and project timelines. You are passionate about nurturing “win-win” long-term partnerships that drive business growth and serve the Chess.com mission. You are based in the U.S. or Canada (required).
What You’ll Do
Partner Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with Partners to understanding their unique needs and goals.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Partners, post-contract negotiation.
- Collaborate closely with Partners to gather insights, align marketing strategies with their brand guidelines, and provide regular updates on campaign performance.
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Develop integrated marketing strategies tailored to the Partner's objectives, target audience, and budget.
- Identify appropriate marketing channels, define key messages, and outline timelines/goals.
Campaign Execution and Coordination:
- Managing communication and planning leading up to events/activations for internal teams.
- Oversee the implementation of Partnership campaigns, coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
- Ie) Creative, media planners, content creators, digital marketers, engineering, product, design, etc..
Branding and Positioning:
- Work with partners to refine their brand positioning and messaging, ensuring alignment with Chess.com's brand and long-term mutual success.
Channel Management:
- Determine the most effective channels, features, and products for a campaign to achieve specific KPI's for partners and Chess.com
- Ie) advertising, digital marketing, social media, content marketing, events, public relations, and other relevant platforms.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using various metrics and analytics tools.
- Provide regular reports to Partners, highlighting key performance indicators, campaign results, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Hold weekly/quarterly calls with Partners to communicate updates, changes, metrics, and results.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Manage the marketing budget and/or resources set by the Partner and Chess.com, ensuring efficient resource allocation across different marketing activities.
- Ie) Product development, internal team time/resources, social campaigns, events, creator/influencer coordination, etc..
Preferred Skills
- People and purpose centric approach to doing business
- Interest in and love of chess not required, but a plus
- Strong relationship-building instincts
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Familiar with Chess.com platform and community: not necessary, but a plus if you are!
- Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
- 5+ years of partnership / key account management experience, ideally from gaming and/or other sports industry
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Must be based in the U.S.
- Strong discipline and ability to manage multiple project timelines and responsibilities for multiple internal and external stakeholders
About the Opportunity
- This is a full-time position
