The Manager for Admission Digital Communications serves as a point of contact for marketing and communications within Enrollment Management and Strategic Partnership (EMSP), executing the institution’s admission marketing and local communications needs and activities in alignment with the university’s Marketing and Communications strategy, guidelines, and policies. The main audience of the Manager for Admission Digital Communications is the institution’s prospective and current students and families. The Manager for Admission Digital Communications focuses on elevating the academic mission of the unit by building community among students, faculty, and staff; promoting the unit and its activities to these audiences; drafting and disseminating communications across various platforms; and facilitating integration and coordination with the university’s central Marketing and Communications function. The Manager for Admission Digital Communications delivers impact through the unique understanding of needs of the unit and its constituents, community, and prospective audiences. The Manager for Admission Digital Communications centers the academic mission of the university as well as equity, inclusion, and social justice as inextricable elements of their work and the core functions that they manage.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Building
- Connecting prospective and current students, faculty, and staff through the development and dissemination of community content and communications across different digital engagement platforms, including informational hubs and microsites, web content, and SMS marketing.
- Identifying and understanding the goals, objectives, and needs of prospective students, applicants, and families.
- Promoting EMSP offerings and aligning them to the mission of the Admission and The New School.
- Engaging with prospective students, applicants, and families through social media and online marketing platform correspondence, and encouraging peer-to-peer connections and interactions.
- Researching, identifying, and strategizing the use of new and emerging digital channels where admission communication efforts will help The New School meet its enrollment goals, and keeping up-to-date with ongoing innovations and trends.
Promotion of Activities
- Promoting recruitment and yield events, like open house events, information sessions, and admitted student events.
- Implementing and monitoring of social media campaigns in support of admission events and deadlines, tracking spending and assessing, optimizing and reporting on ROI outcomes.
- Overseeing the identification, development, and dissemination of external and internal communications.
- Curating and promoting the ongoing activities and milestones of EMSP, which includes the identification of the activities, development of content for New School-managed channels, management of the EMSP marketing and editorial calendar, and coordination with the central content and marketing calendar.
- Managing EMSP’s communications channels to ensure the most relevant and up-to-date application and admission information, including important dates and deadlines, financial aid and funding requirements, admission events, and other enrollment information.
Integration and Coordination
- Ensuring brand compliance and consistency based on the guidelines provided by the central Marketing and Communications’ Brand Strategy team.
- Coordinating with the colleges to ensure accuracy and consistency in language around recruiting materials.
- Serving as the main point of contact and reliable advocate for EMSP’s interests and central Marketing and Communications’ functional expertise and programs.
- Building and maintaining relationships with University social media staff and other partners.
- Supporting unit-level branded marketing efforts through the identification of critical information, coordination with appropriate stakeholders, and content development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Working knowledge of query building, content management, and message deployment using a CRM
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting written communications from a marketing perspective adhering to content design best practices
- Experience with HTML and CSS, including editing and publishing web content using a CMS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in web content, digital content production, and/or social media management; preferably in an administrative setting or on a creative project team
- Ability to adhere to the New School’s COVID-19 protocols and policies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor student staff, working well with colleagues across all areas of an institution or company.
- Advanced understanding of Google Workspace applications including Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, and Sites, and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using project management tools like Trello and employee community workspaces like Slack.
- Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver, Sublime Text, or other HTML editing platform.
- Knowledge of content and graphic design best practices, including WCAG and ADA content and communications guidelines and use of grammar editing platforms
- Knowledge of both graduate and undergraduate education admission recruitment policies and best practices.
WORK MODE
- Remote - Employees in this position will work remotely, and are not expected to be on campus. The university has designated specific states in which it will register and in which Fully Remote employees will perform work
SALARY RANGE
- $60,000 - $64,000
