Summary/Objective
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource and talent acquisition processes. This position makes certain that plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource and talent acquisition functions as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
- Completes check-in meetings with new employees to track employee satisfaction
- Assists with recruitment and interview process by tracking status of candidates, sending follow-up correspondence, and submitting new hires for pre-employment screening
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains files
- Conducts audits of benefits or other HR programs as needed and recommends corrective action
- Assists HR team with special projects to launch new policies and develop procedures
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Prepares all necessary new hire resources and conducts new employee orientation
- Processes required documents and changes through the HRIS in conjunction with payroll including new hires and terminations
- Prepares and launches new employee onboarding through HRIS
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Assists in the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility or direct reports.
Education and Experience
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Professional internship or previous work experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience required
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Clear understanding and ability to practice confidentiality
- Working understanding of human resources and talent acquisition practices and procedures
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
