- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs and recruiting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides support and guidance to employees, management, and other partners when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Partners with managers to facilitate employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintains job descriptions ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for all positions.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of work experience as an HR Generalist, Senior Generalist, or related job role. - or -
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, complete multiple projects within established deadlines and work with a sense of urgency while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Christman's HRIS and talent management systems.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Demonstrated business acumen, leadership ability, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of employment law required; experience with multiple states and/or federal contractor requirements preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate tasks when appropriate.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a telephone, and working on a computer.
- Required to regularly talk, listen, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch and maintain visual acuity.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
