Position Summary:
The HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by performing various administrative and clerical tasks. They assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR department and contribute to creating a positive and efficient work environment. The HR Assistant provides support in areas such as employee relations, recruitment and selection, onboarding, record-keeping, and general HR functions.
Although the Human Resources Assistant may be administrative in nature, the role is significant and impactful to the success of DCS. Supporting strategic HR functions include, but not limited to: Efficient HR Operations, Positive Employee Experience, Compliance, Risk Management, Administrative Support, Employee Relations and Engagement.
- Onboard and manage any employee updates within HRIS
- Create and maintain your schedule to ensure success
- Screen applicants - Review resumes & applications for specific positions depending upon skillset and sources
- Apply for State Withholding and Unemployment ID, Paid Family Leave programs
- Calculate, reconcile and process RTM and W2 payroll
- Apply 401k distributions, to comply with Safe Harbor compliance
- Respond to hiring inquiries as needed
- Complete and perform reference checks as needed
- Review hiring assessments and bringing ideal candidates through the hiring process
- Sync with Human Resources Manager on updates and initiatives
- Highly organized and tech savvy
- Be proactive with respect to Human Resources goals
- Highly communicative with applicants and the Human Resources team
- Demonstrate ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Accomplish deadlines in relation to HR functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) Google Drive a plus!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- High School diploma or GED, some college coursework preferred; additional education in HR or a related field is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology and billing (preferred, but not required).
- 2+ years Human Resource administrative experience
- Familiarity with HR software and databases, showcasing your ability to adapt to technological tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your work.
- Proven experience as an HR assistant or in a similar administrative role, demonstrating your commitment to HR best practices
- $40,000+ salary commensurate with experience
