Job Description
Job Summary


The Human Resources Generalist will assist with any HR functions necessary in the HR department including but not limited to the following items listed below.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • Maintain the accuracy of the HRIS system.
  • Handles new hire onboarding to ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and professional licensure.
  • Additional training may be added specific to the tasks or functions the employee is specifically assigned to.
  • Handles employee new hire orientation and employee development and training.
  • Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Customer service – including, but not limited to answering phones, responding to emailsReview discrepancies on the paperwork received with a supervisor, client, or consultant as needed.
  • Provide support to employees in various topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Generating internal documents such as offer letters, appointments, and PCF when needed.
  • Provide on-the-job ongoing employee training and coaching.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assist in the update of company policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching and education on current CA law and company policies.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Attend outside training as necessary.
  • Audit of I-9 forms, employee driving logs, and supporting documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned and qualified for, as determined by management.
  • Administration of benefits throughout the company and maintaining employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health while focusing on employee services and counseling.
  • Assist in making files and special projects for Human Resources.


Qualifications


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.


Education And Experience


  • BA degree in Human Resources or PHR preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Previous experience in Human Resources is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
