This is a unique opportunity to support our client Amazon’s Global Category Managers to drive a best-in-class hotel program. You will develop a strong understanding of business strategies and goals and understand how category management contributes to these. You will participate in the design and creation of strategic plans, roadmaps, budget and resource planning.
You will highlight customer service issues to the global category managers and provide them with recommended resolutions.
You will use key data, reports and performance metrics to contribute to strategic plans, whitepapers and business reviews to inform and influence decision making and get leadership buy in.
You will use your natural analytical skills to assess the performance of existing contracts and you will contribute relevant data to support global travel projects. You will support sourcing events from researching the market and building out requirements right through to implementation. You will support cost and savings analysis to drive data-based decision making. You will model alternative options and build out decision-making criteria including cost estimates and supplier recommendations.
A natural business partner, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Procurement, Legal and Finance to share and leverage best practice and to drive innovation.
You will work with the wider travel team to support the roll out of new technologies, to monitor adoption and to track areas for improvement.
In terms of location, ideally, you will be based close to Seattle, Arlington or Nashville, NYC. The role is remote but close access to an office is preferred.
Key Skills Required:
· An understanding of how data can drive and support key decision making
· You will have a strong understanding of the different working parts of a global travel team and the dependencies and downstream impacts of initiatives on different parts of the team
· You will have a good understanding of procurement-driven sourcing events and how data and analysis contributes throughout the end-to-end process
· An analytical mind, support the global team with analysis to drive key business decision making
· A natural inclination and the required gravitas for business partnering – an understanding of how this can be mutually beneficial
· Ability to work in a cross-functional team and to spot synergies and feedback opportunities
· A passion for continuous improvement and for keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, which could benefit the program
Experience Required:
· Several years’ experience in business travel industry related roles
· Experience with an Online Booking Tool, Global Distribution System OBT, Hotel Systems r Travel Management Company would be a benefit
· Understanding of the Direct Connect environment as it relates to corporate hotel programmes would be a plus
· Working knowledge of the priorities and working tasks of a fast-paced Global travel team
· Experience in a related role
