The Communications Manager provides oversight and expert support through consultation, content creation and review, and omnichannel distribution of communications to global employee audiences. You will act as a subject matter expert, helping to develop and execute a comprehensive and agile communications plan that supports the Amazon Travel & Events organization with ongoing brand building and engagement communications, policy updates, insights gathering and change management.
You will be customer obsessed and look for ways to help effectively communicate to our audience to maximize adoption of the Amazon Travel & Events brand story. You will insist on the highest standards, providing copywriting and editing services to the larger project teams while maintaining Amazon style, voice and brand standards. You will work backwards from the customer to ensure that the most effective channels are utilized and all messaging clearly highlights the value and benefit of the change to the audience. You will invent and simplify, developing suggestions or improvements to maximize the value of our team's resources, build writing and communications skillsets, and seek new ways to track and measure our work.
In terms of location, ideally, you will be based close to Seattle, Arlington, Nashville, Dallas or Austin. The role is remote but close access to an office is preferred.
Key Tasks will Include:
· Creation of communication plans, contributing to the overall brand strategy
· Review of communications distribution channels
· Copywriting and editing content for a range of audiences
· Develop content plans around the needs of distinct groups of customers
· Implement methodologies to track and measure the effectiveness of communications
Key Skills Required:
· Superb writing skills are required with previous experience developing and executing communications or marketing strategies that support change management, new technology launches, promotions and events
· Detail-oriented in all aspects of the communications process, including stakeholder collaboration, audience identification and segmentation, messaging and content curation, editing and omnichannel delivery
· Data-driven mindset, ability to track and measure communications performance
· Microsoft proficiency in Word, Power Point and Excel is a requirement
Experience Required:
· Hands-on experience managing customer engagement and brand-building activities through events, promotions and social media
· Project management tools and design capabilities a plus
· Experience managing multiple projects on tight deadlines
· Must be a self-motivated and collaborative team player
· 5 years’ experience in a similar role for a large, matrixed company
· Bachelor's Degree required
