You Are


UST is searching for a Healthcare Management Coordinator who will support the coordination of medical services including care management intake, health screening, and provider requests to promote the effective utilization of healthcare services. Promote and support care managers and utilization management team as required.


The Opportunity


  • Monitors member admissions, enters discharge dates and disposition, and refers to needed services in accordance with to benefit plan.
  • Completes member health screenings to identify needed services and completes member referrals in accordance with to benefit plan.
  • Performs non-medical research pertinent to the establishment, maintenance, and closure of member cases including the research and resolution of claims issues.
  • Protects the confidentiality of the member information and adheres to the company policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Provides support services to team members by answering incoming telephone calls, taking messages, researching information, and assisting in solving problems including assisting members with basic benefit and program information.
  • Assists care managers as needed to mail member letters, contact provider offices, arrange provider appointments and transportation, and other duties as necessary.
  • Responsible for initial review and triage of care team tasks to include the reason for admission, facility, and member program to correctly apply intervention assessment tools.
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation of required information that meets quality standards


This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.


What You Need


  • Strong customer service skills to assist members and/or providers with understanding healthcare information and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office products, and internal systems to include JIVA, IKA Systems, and Symphony
  • Current unrestricted LPN license or certified Medical Assistant designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of educational assessments and learning strategies.
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and able to use standard, basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Experience with medical terminology and concepts used in the healthcare delivery system, provider office, or the insurance industry is required.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to manage significant workload, and to work efficiently under pressure, meeting established deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • The preferred setting is a hospital, medical doctor’s office, or health insurance company.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks.
  • Advanced technical skills in the use of hardware and software with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and feedback.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health care-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for representation of clear and concise results.


Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience.  As required by local law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City, or Washington as set forth below.


Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for Role


Remote: $43,000-$62,500


Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits. Depending on the role, some associates may also be eligible for stock options.
