Black Love, Inc. is a Black-owned media company devoted to providing diverse representation of love in the Black community through film/tv, original digital content, audio, live events and social media. While we began our journey with the creation of the BLACK LOVE docu-series, which launched as the most viewed unscripted series in the history of the Oprah Winfrey Network, we have evolved to offer a wide range of content and experiences that affirm, educate, and entertain the Black Gen-Z & Millennial audience.


Job Summary:


Black Love is looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Partnerships & Sales to join our team. This role will report to the COO. As the Head of Partnerships & Sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through the development and management of strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and branded content initiatives. Your primary focus will be leveraging your extensive network of industry relationships within the media agency and brand landscape to secure high-value partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation skills, a proven track record in closing complex deals, a strong sense of the value of brand storytelling, and a deep understanding of the media industry.


What You’ll Do:


  • Manage a pipeline including account targeting, deal qualification and prioritization, and accurate forecasting
  • Develop sales motions and processes to improve performance and efficiency
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue quota through structuring and execution of multi-platform programs, strategic ad sales, partnerships and sponsorship deals with advertisers and key media agency stakeholders
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships, incorporating an understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to identify innovative partnership opportunities
  • Build, manage and lead a team, setting vision and strategy and collaborating with senior leadership to design incentive strategies for maximizing team performance
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy aligned with the company's objectives and growth plans, leveraging cold outreach as well as existing relationships
  • Monitor and analyze revenue performance, tracking key metrics and making data-driven recommendations for optimization


Requirements


What You’ll Bring to the Table:


  • Incredible relationship-builder with an ability to engage, connect, and maintain relationships with a wide diversity of individuals
  • Extensive network and relationships with C-level executives and senior decision-makers within the media agency and brand marketing industry
  • Past experience creating and managing the execution of long form brand storytelling content that is funded by brands
  • Proven ability to cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships, leveraging industry relationships to drive revenue growth
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to set clear goals and drive results through effective planning and execution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and team members
  • Strong understanding of the Black Love brand and/or target audience
  • 10-15 years of professional experience in business development, partnerships, and/or sales
  • At least 3 years of experience in a management position, including responsibility for hiring and building a business development, partnerships, and/or sales team
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully structuring and closing complex, multi-channel partnerships and sponsorship deals
  • Strong understanding of the media industry and market insights, enabling the identification of valuable partnership opportunities aligned with company objectives


Benefits


The base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $250,000, with opportunities for bonuses based on performance. We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and flexible PTO.


Black Love, Inc. has adopted a hybrid work model for our entire staff. We believe that the best work is done in a hybrid capacity as it combines the flexibility of working from home with in person collaboration. As such, we are ideally looking for Los Angeles based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate within the first 1-2 months of accepting an offer.
