The Head of Creative Talent & Studio is responsible for fostering relationships, creative connection, and positive reputation with Brand Maker Studio at Snap Inc and the creative community at large. This role will partner with leadership to develop and action talent strategies that ensure business and employee needs are met and encourage the Studio’s development into a progressive talent incubator and talent attractor.


Candidates should have work experience beyond the talent discipline; ideally, candidates have a strong understanding of the creative process and have operated on a creative-led team within an agency or studio environment or on behalf of world-class brands.


What You’ll Do:


  • Build strong relationships with current and future creative staff; Develop clear understanding of their strengths and weaknesses plus identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop a powerful talent strategy alongside creative leadership to catalyze the Brand Maker Studio’s potency and stand up a talent tracking system specifically for the Studio
  • Strategically spot and develop talent, building dynamic and world-class teams and utilizing talent as a competitive advantage for the Brand Maker Studio
  • Attend career fairs, conferences, award shows and other recruitment events to network and solicit leads for current and future positions
  • Maintain a cadence of regular check-ins with leadership to forecast upcoming needs and provide updates on current openings
  • Approach talent operations as the crossroads between the business and the talent, with a keen eye to the environments and context that brings out the best in people and allows talent to thrive at Snap
  • Model and reinforce our cultural values of being kind, smart, and creative
  • Identify and implement best practices for attracting and selecting top talent (industry trends, relevant press, industry leaders)
  • Partner with leadership to build out and maintain our annual hiring roadmap in line with organizational needs
  • Influence talent initiatives that support our short and long-term business goals, including driving practices that enable high performance and operational excellence
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new hiring processes as required to grow the business
  • Pipeline and cultivate relationships with potential future candidates
  • Ensure creative talent is properly cast for all assignments and have ability to shuffle talent around to meet current needs
  • Be a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion efforts


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Experience influencing and advising executive leadership on talent and employment matters
  • Poised to accept the duties of therapist, translator, and talent-radar for the creative department and likely others within the Studio
  • Remain calm while prioritizing which fires to put out first
  • Knowledge of and experience with Snap Inc products
  • Soft skills that transcend the parameters of the role (diligence, integrity, maximum X-factor)
  • Be a quality person who attracts quality people
  • Ability to coach leaders on personal and team development
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the creative process, production, architecting staff plans, and creative-led business/industry as a whole
  • Experience with performance management, organizational design, talent management, compensation, and employee relations
  • Has established a strong network of freelancers and demonstrates know-how for continuing to build this roster
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities


Minimum Qualifications


  • 10+ years total relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience


Compensation:


In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.


  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary for this position is $205,000 - $295,000 annually
  • Zone B: The base salary for this position is $195,000 - $280,000 annually
  • Zone C: The base salary for this position is $174,000 - $251,000 annually


This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.

To reflect this, we practice a “default together” approach and expect our team members to work in an office at least 80% of the time (an average of 4 days per week).
