Job Description

Job Summary:

BLAVITUR SA is looking for a Head of Digital Operations & Business Strategy to manage content revenue growth, leadership and team operations for Blavity Media Group overseeing the following teams: creative services, video services, commerce content, editorial and social content. All consumer and editorial brands for BLAVITUR SA report to this leader’s organization.


The ideal candidate is an operational and profit-first business-minded leader that deeply understands the shifts in digital media with experience successfully managing, coaching, and inspiring large teams. They have experience growing commerce and affiliate digital businesses. This executive leader will spend 60% of their time managing people and 40% of their time on business strategy.


This role will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with directors of content to review editorial vision across all content production: digital, video, audio and future content growth areas
  • Drive revenue and margin growth, including commercializing and innovating department offerings; accurately scoping and staffing businesses; and reviewing, interpreting, and problem-solving team utilization
  • Set monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals with clear KPIs against all brands, channels, digital campaigns and tactics
  • Lead the development of brand initiatives in all forms to drive new and current business for Blavity Media Group, including IP monetization strategy.
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure the highest level of operational excellence for Blavity Media Group Creative & Content teams, including but not limited to, templatization of service proposals and project kickoffs, communications or analysis to ensure projects follow brand guidelines/standards and workflow management to improve efficiencies and capacity utilization


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience in digital publishing, commerce or ad technology
  • Ability to help craft meaningful insights from data and disseminate it across the company
  • 6+ years of people management experience of multiple teams or departments
  • Deep understanding of the digital landscape, social platforms and technology trends
  • Expert in business strategy, project management, implementing processes and onboarding large teams onto new projects, processes and initiatives in a remote environment

Details:

  • This is a fully remote role, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
  • Candidates must be available to work at least 80% in alignment to EST.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • The annual salary range for this role is $175,000 - $220,000.
