Fund Finance Associate (Alternative Asset Management)

Our client is $60B Private Equity/ Alternative Asset Manager currently seeking to add a talented Fund Finance Associate for one of their new launched Funds. Ideal candidate must be well versed with reviewing and preparing Firm Financials, preparing investment performance reports, portfolio valuations and presenting findings to Management Committee.

Firm currently utilizes 3rd party vendors for preparation of administrative accounting and finance, so this individual will be reviewing their work, reporting to CFO.

Potential for ideal candidate to participate in Equity Distribution/Carry Plan participation

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial statement preparation, cash and position reconciliations, entering income/expense accruals, preparing capital allocation schedules, and sending investor correspondence regarding account balances
• Prepare and post all journal entries and prepare monthly trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow reports.

• Conduct financial analysis on financial statements in order to isolate troubled assets and develop remediation protocols
• Assist portfolio valuations efforts including portfolio optimization, risk analytics, performance attribution, and risk/liability management
• Calculate capital calls and distributions as requested by general partner.
• Collaborate with CFO/Controller on preparation of firm reporting and intra-company reconciliation process

Desired Skills and Professional Experience

• CPA or CPA in progress highly preferred
• Prior experience with Tax Accounting/Reporting required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dead-line driven dynamic environment
• Outstanding communication skills, proven ability to effectively work with all levels of Management
• Innovative and creative thinker
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of (Accounting/Audit/Tax) industry experience
• Technical skills; Advanced Excel and Portfolio Accounting Software (Investran) preferred
