Job Description
Job Summary


Highbridge Capital Management is seeking a Data Analyst for our Risk and Portfolio Construction group. This team is responsible for managing all aspects of Highbridge's risk management frameworks and controls, as well as developing new innovative tools and approaches to add value to the investment process. As a key member of the group, this person will:


  • Partner closely with the investment team, investment technology, and other groups within Highbridge who depend on the firm's data,
  • Have primary responsibility for the integrity and accessibility of data that fuels the firm's investment processes,
  • And take an active role in developing the processes and toolsets to collect, manage, and leverage a variety of data types in daily portfolio management.


Job Responsibilities


This Data Analyst will play a vital role in managing the data that supports the investment process and risk management. He or she will develop a deep knowledge and understanding of the firm's investment platform and will help support business growth through advancing the data collection and management toolsets. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:


  • Utilize knowledge of investment process and data architecture to help design back-testing for new investment strategies and hedging programs
  • Enhance existing data sets to accurately capture the firm's knowledge of an investment universe
  • Identify (or Verify) appropriate position targets at investment onset based on investment type and relative risk to ensure consistency among the firm's investments
  • Become subject matter expert on the firm's data and support use by internal stakeholders
  • Use subject matter expertise to provide guidance to separate Technology resources
  • Manage the recurring review and update processes for proprietary data sets based on Highbridge fundamental research and trading views in coordination with the investment team


Job Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills


  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performance, global team
  • High intellectual aptitude; interest to develop an understanding of investment products and strategies
  • Undergraduate/Masters degree in a quantitative area; Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics etc.
  • Entrepreneurial, energetic and dedicated personality
  • Between 2 and 4 years of total work experience, ideally in asset management or investment banking
  • Knowledge of databases (RDS/SQL server) and programming languages (Java/Python) a plus
  • Ability to work with large data sets to support specific commercial goals
