Job Description
Position Summary


Coordinate and oversee activities of the front office and front office team members to ensure compassionate and professional care for patients and effective and efficient front office workflow. This is a working lead position and will be responsible for assigned tasks and duties 75% of the time. The other 25% will be dedicated to coordinating team workflow and supporting other teammates.


Essential Functions Of The Role


  • Organize and assign duties and tasks to front office team members.
  • Oversee Time of Service collections to maximize amount collected every day.
  • Implement or recommend disciplinary action as needed in conjunction with the Business Office Manager.
  • Establish front office team members’ work schedules and ensure adequate coverage for the team at all times, acting as a backup for all roles in your department as necessary.
  • Review and correct timesheets and approve bi-weekly payroll for your team members.
  • Provide positive guidance, training, and monitoring of staff on department processes.
  • Provide orientation and training on front office policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain training and workflow documents for the department.
  • Evaluate performance of front office team members and conduct verbal and written performance evaluations after 30 days, 90 days and annually with support of the Business Office Manager.
  • Act as an excellent role model and customer service resource.
  • Ensure high quality care for patients by reviewing and researching concerns or complaints and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
  • Monitor the flow of patient check in and check out. Keep patients informed of delays.
  • Assist the Business Office Manager with periodic department meetings with your team members, minimum monthly meetings.
  • Identify department issues or problems and implement solutions to your team members with the support of the Business Office Manager.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 1-2 years experience working in a clinic setting
  • Knowledgeable of insurance benefits
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workflow
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)


Desired Qualifications


  • Experience in a Cardiology practice
  • Experience with GEMMS practice management/ EMR platform
