Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our fleet of garbage trucks and support vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inspection of our fleet of vehicles to ensure their efficient and safe operation.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the service life of vehicles.
- Assist in the purchasing process of new garbage trucks, analyzing cost-effectiveness and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to create and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system for all fleet-related activities, including maintenance schedules, vehicle registrations, and warranty information.
- Manage and mentor the fleet maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high-quality workmanship.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source necessary parts, equipment, and services at competitive prices.
- Monitor and manage the fleet maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices to improve fleet performance and safety.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, preferably within the waste collection industry.
- Proven track record of managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, including garbage trucks.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and optimize maintenance processes and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
