We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our fleet of garbage trucks and support vehicles.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inspection of our fleet of vehicles to ensure their efficient and safe operation.
2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the service life of vehicles.
3. Assist in the purchasing process of new garbage trucks, analyzing cost-effectiveness and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
4. Collaborate with other departments to create and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system for all fleet-related activities, including maintenance schedules, vehicle registrations, and warranty information.
5. Manage and mentor the fleet maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high-quality workmanship.
6. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source necessary parts, equipment, and services at competitive prices.
7. Monitor and manage the fleet maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices to improve fleet performance and safety.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, preferably within the waste collection industry.
2. Proven track record of managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, including garbage trucks.
3. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to analyze and optimize maintenance processes and procedures.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
8. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
