Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our finance and accounting department, focusing on compensation and equity transactions. Your responsibilities will encompass various detail-oriented tasks, including journal entry recording, compensation tracking, account reconciliations, monthly closing procedures, financial statement reporting, and annual audits. You will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Corporate Accounting, FP&A, HR, Tax, Treasury, and Payroll to ensure the seamless operation of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct variance analysis at both the account and legal entity levels.
Perform necessary bank reconciliations.
Keep track of awards related to new offer letters, continuing employment letters, and separation agreements.
Compile and review journal entries for both cash and non-cash compensation items during the monthly closing process.
Administer the firm's incentive compensation process in coordination with the Assistant Controller and Compensation Controller, and communicate all compensation-related matters with the HR department.
Ensure timely award payments to Payroll on a semi-monthly basis.
Reconcile compensation accounts on a monthly basis across all legal entities.
Prepare annual phantom award letters for participating employees.
Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate closely with the Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Management Reporting departments as needed.
Provide assistance with Corporate audit tasks.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
4-8 years of experience in corporate reporting or corporate financial management.
Preferred Experience In The Financial Services Industry.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering highly accurate work.
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel.
Strong work ethic and a sense of personal ownership of assigned tasks.
Experience with OneStream software is a plus, with a solid understanding of ledger database structure and organizational hierarchies.
Knowledge of recent GAAP pronouncements, including (precodification 115, 123R, 141R, 157, 159, 160, and 167), and the ability to apply these standards in practice.
Previous experience with monthly/annual close procedures using GL systems is advantageous.
Desire and experience in coding, particularly Excel VBA, is desired.
