Position: “Financial Accountant - Part-Time"

Here's Where You Come In:

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Financial Accountant to support our growing company.

This is an opportunity to help our organization's with the daily accounting operations, including the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments. Also helps guide the company's strategic financial decisions, as an integral part of the financial health of the business.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement .
• Assist with all other special tasks and projects as directed by owner.
• Monthly invoicing to our customers.
• Prepare and post receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping tasks.
• Monitors customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities ; follow up with customers via phone and / or email.
• Provide job costing to track the cost of individual projects and jobs.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and verifying accuracy .
• Complete the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and other adjusting entries .
• Utilize QuickBooks to maintain financial records by doing ledger entries and reconciling bank and credit accounts .
• Responsible for applying for sales/use tax for all our lighting sales nationally.
• Key duties include accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports .
• Assist with the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation .

What We Would Like To See From You:

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines .
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes and principles (budgeting, financial closure, reporting)
• Provide deep care and support for our clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field .
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve .
• Strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy and completeness .
• Self-motivating, ability to work with a level of autonomy.
• Experience and high proficiency with MS Excel spreadsheets, data entry, formulas, and data manipulation.
• High-level experience in Quickbooks
• 10+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience required .
• Works remotely, virtual office.
• Great time-management skills.

Compensation:

• Part-time position (1099) starting at 12-16 hours per week.
• Weekly meeting on Wednesday late afternoon with manager.
• $50-$75/hr depending on experience.
• Work week would typically look like: 2-3+ hours per day, M-F.
