Job Description

Tonies US is looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist who is passionate about overseeing the financial planning and analysis activities of this rapidly growing children's screen-free platform. The candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller, with strong cross functional collaboration with accounting, marketing, merchandise planning, and supply chain organizations, and should have a “start-up” mindset: entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and positive. The ideal candidate is excited to contribute to this dynamic company by helping team members and management through the candidate's strong understanding of financial principles, data analysis, and business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, including financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad hoc analyses for senior leadership and board members.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, operations, and HR to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
  • Conducting complex financial analyses and modeling to provide insights into business performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Leading the development of the company's annual budget, forecasting financial performance, and tracking actual results against budget.
  • Support essential decisions through ad-hoc analyses (e.g. departmental P&Ls, magnitude and timing of infrastructure investment)


Requirements

  • A positive attitude, self-motivated, self-aware and eager to learn.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Must possess knowledge of Google Suite and similar tools.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Candidates should be passionate about ecommerce, digital, and products that enhance a child/family’s experience and trajectory.


Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA is preferred.
  • Experience with financial systems and tools such as ERP, budgeting and forecasting software, and business intelligence tools, including ideally Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or SAP experience.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience working in any consumer facing industry with a multiple products/brands, 3rd party warehouses, and channels (DTC and wholesale models)
  • Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet the deadlines that exist in a rapidly growing startup.
