Job Description

Our client, a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer e-commerce organization is seeking a VP of FP&A to help build a strong FP&A function, provide insights to business leaders, and drive strategic decision-making across the organization.


This critical role encompasses the oversight of annual budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, evaluating growth opportunities and capital allocation decisions, and providing actionable insights to senior management. This role reports directly to the CFO and leads a team of dedicated FP&A professionals.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and surfacing actionable insights to cross-functional partners in the operations, marketing, and technology departments.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of robust financial models for forecasting, strategic planning, and decision-making purposes.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends, incorporating this knowledge into financial planning and analysis.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function.
  • Implement and manage financial reporting systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate financial data for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, coordinating with various department heads to develop comprehensive budgets aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the FP&A team, providing a vision and roadmap for the team's evolution and coaching and developing direct reports.
  • Present financial results, analyses, and recommendations to the executive team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight of financial covenant compliance and manage liquidity and working capital.


Qualifications, Education, & Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • 10+ years' experience in FP&A or related roles, with at least five years in leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing competing priorities.
