The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (HSC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.
Opening its doors in 1970 as the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) HSC is nationally recognized as a top producer of primary care physicians and as a center for innovation in education. It is the only medical school in the country to graduate physicians as Certified Professionals in Patient Safety as recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Last year (2022), HSC opened the HSC Regional Simulation Center, the first immersive virtual reality center in the state of Texas.
Reporting to the President, and as a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, the CSO will provide critical guidance on, and execution of, all aspects of strategies that accomplish both short-term and long-term institutional goals and plans; hold a decisive and inspiring focus on outcomes with an innovative and intelligent approach to taking risks; play a diplomatic role working directly with internal, governmental, and community leaders; and oversee all HSC-wide strategic planning with metrics to drive accountability.
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree and at least 15 years of experience and functional expertise in senior leadership in government, academia, or non-profit sectors; a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing organizational change; a substantial record of highly effective written and verbal communication skills; exceptionally strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships among diverse and varied community and institutional stakeholders; and demonstrated marketing data experience.
The successful candidate will also possess the ability to promote a diverse and inclusive work environment.
