The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth ( HSC ) is one of the nation’s distinguished graduate academic health science centers, dedicated to education, research, clinical care and community engagement. HSC is composed of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, School of Public Health, College of Pharmacy, and College of Nursing.

Position Summary

The Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer ( CSO ) will be a high performing professional, whose background in strategic planning will span organizational development / growth, logistics, and operations.

Reporting to the President, and as a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, the CSO will:

• Embrace innovative intelligent risk taking and focus on driving towards outcomes.
• Oversee creation and establishment of HSC -wide strategic planning and metrics to drive accountability.
• Work directly with internal, governmental, and community leaders.
• Provide strategic guidance on, and execution of, all aspects of HSC’s strategy that simultaneously accomplishes short-term and long-term institutional goals.

This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The CSO may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the Institution.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 15 years of experience and functional expertise in senior leadership required
• Demonstrated success in leadership, strategic planning, logistics, project-management, process improvement and operations
• Experience in successfully working with senior leadership who have demonstrated success in rapidly evolving public or private sector environments
• Proven track record as a strategic senior leader in rapidly evolving environments
• Master’s degree required
• Prior senior experience in government, academia, or non-profit sectors
