As the VP of Digital Strategy, you will spearhead digital innovation, leading the company's digital operations, overseeing IT systems, and safeguarding our technology-based intellectual property. Collaborating closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, you will identify strategic opportunities to harness technology, shaping our organization's technological roadmap.
Your role as the chief liaison between internal stakeholders and technology vendors will involve advocating for new IT needs, managing existing systems, services, and vendor relationships. You'll foster crucial partnerships with technology providers, ensuring optimal utilization of our resources while continuously exploring avenues for technological growth.
Drawing upon your substantial technology expertise, you will drive ROI measurement, plan and execute system implementations and integrations, and manage the resources impacted by these initiatives. Your strategic insights will shape our digital ecosystem, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and overall success.
Job Responsibilities:
Technology Evaluation and Management:
Evaluate new and existing technology projects, ensuring comprehensive understanding of scope, requirements, scale, and integrations, while considering options and assessing risks throughout.
Proficient in cloud-based systems, Association Management Systems (AMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, learning management systems (LMS), single-sign-on (SSO), and systems integrations.
Optimize Existing Tools
- Develop and nurture relationships with existing vendors and assess regularly.
- Work closely with the department heads to identify training needs and assist or arrange appropriate training.
- Understand and evaluate product road maps to ensure the organization is taking full advantage of system functionality and optimizing business processes.
- Work closely with staff to resolve challenges and issues; encourage and foster creative, collaborative critical thinking.
- Work with internal stakeholders and existing partners to alleviate ‘pain points’ in existing processes, develop solutions by reviewing systems, settings, workflows, and use cases.
- Work closely with staff in all departments and at all levels to understand requirements, identify appropriate technology solutions and champion them within the organization.
- Continually research new products that will add value, improve efficiency, and benefit members.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Ongoing evaluation of technology solutions for trending global issues, areas for enhancement and possible alternate vendors.
- Work with stakeholders to document requirements, scope solutions and determine resources to deliver solutions.
- Attend IT and industry-specific conferences and network with vendors to understand alternative solutions and emerging industry trends.
- Learn and evaluate the organization’s current processes and recommend innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency (e.g., process changes, new software, or new ways of using existing software, etc.).
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline existing business processes and encourage adoption of new tools and alternate ways of working.
Required Experience:
- Business Analysis: 3-5 years minimum
- Information Technology: 3-5 years minimum
- IT Project Management: 3-5 years minimum
- Basic understanding of technology systems architecture and integrations.
Qualifications:
- Desired: Project Management certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a diverse, fast-paced, technology-driven organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other collaboration tools.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Knowledge of data governance and business intelligence.
- Availability for after-hours support and 20% travel.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday, Smartsheet, Basecamp, Asana).
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization, including writing RFPs, business processes, and training material.
