As an Executive Search Recruiter, you will lead strategy and recruitment for VP searches, interacting directly with executives to understand their business, culture, and talent needs. You will develop and maintain strong relationships and pipelines of candidates, which include internal, external, and/or referrals. You will implement diverse and functional Talent Acquisition and Talent Management strategies, providing counsel and influencing talent decisions. This includes proactive talent sourcing, market insights, and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to optimize search strategies that attract and bring top talent into Medtronic. Additionally, you will deliver candidates and stakeholders with an elevated experience throughout the recruiting and hiring process.

This position can reside in any of our US Medtronic office locations or work remote.


A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


Lead a Strong Executive Recruiting Program


  • Screen and evaluate prospective candidates for specific roles as well as broader company opportunities, while influencing talent decisions
  • Lead strategy and status meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of client group and search requirements/critical skills necessary; present comprehensive candidate slates and gather feedback
  • Manage all aspects of the search process, including search strategy, candidate development and management, interview and selection process, pre-close, offer negotiation, and client management
  • Own and execute VP searches for assigned business and/or functional areas of expertise
  • Define and manage a search plan with clear deliverables, timelines, and ongoing status updates ensuring speed/pace/quality of hire is met
  • Provide process consultation, make recommendations, influence improvements, leverage resources, and share best practices to facilitate an effective program


Enable superior Internal and External Relationship Management


  • Partner with Sourcers and Talent Management to identify and implement internal and external talent initiatives and sourcing strategies
  • Operate with a sense of urgency, providing the necessary materials, insights, updates, and creative solutions to ensure effective search delivery
  • Conduct research and leverage talent market knowledge/data/insights to provide innovative recruiting strategies in support of hiring needs and diversity initiatives
  • As needed, help manage search firm engagements and partnerships, ensuring an effective process and positive candidate/client experience
  • Manage relationships with Executive Leaders and HR Partners for proactive identification of external talent needs and to develop and drive search strategy aligned to VP Governance


Pipeline Management


  • Develop and maintain an effective pipeline and network of diverse executive talent in anticipation of future needs through market research and relationship management
  • Partner closely with Talent Management and HR Partners to understand talent gaps, future source talent, build/maintain pipelines, and help place internal candidates into new roles


Candidate Experience And Process Optimization


  • Provide “white glove” level candidate care throughout the recruiting process. Develop candidates: coaching, selling/closing and preparing throughout
  • Support and lead continued optimization of our VP governance process to ensure seamless and world-class experience for candidates and internal stakeholders
  • Advise prospective candidates throughout the talent acquisition life cycle, developing and maintaining relationships to ensure a positive experience and strong talent network


Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition to include executive recruiting (VP+), or an advanced degree and 8+ years of experience


Nice to Have


  • Strong organizational, research, and project management skills
  • Strong preference for executive search firm/agency recruiting/sourcing experience
  • Ability to develop creative and diverse sourcing strategies including use of technology, research, and market mapping
  • HR/TA/CIR Certifications
  • Excellent influence, communication, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively influence senior management
  • Capability of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with a focus on delivering results. Strong work ethic.
  • Experience sourcing diverse talent using a wide range of channels
  • Proven track record of success recruiting talent at the Executive level
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy without losing track of the big picture
  • Experience recruiting in the medical technology and device industry
  • Knowledge of employment-related regulations such as EEO, AAP and OFCCP
  • Experience with Taleo, Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, Eightfold, MS Teams
  • Exceptional skills in relationship management
  • Proactive and self-motivated. Action bias with a strong sense of urgency.
