Purpose of Position

The purpose of the Employee Relations Generalist is to provide central management of HR related processes and policies to ensure Human Resource Partners have clear and consistent guidelines across the organization. This role works with the leaders in Human Resources to develop and maintain these processes and policies used throughout the HR organization including onboarding, personnel file management, unemployment requests, relocation, discipline and termination. In addition, this role maintains the Employee handbook that is a compilation of corporate policies, ensuring that all policy owners keep the policies current and in compliance.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide a central location for Teammates to answer questions regarding HR policies and processes
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of the corporate policies / employee handbook, leveraging leaders across the organization who own the actual policies
  • Provide support services to managers in managing compliance with policies and processes for HR related activities
  • Collaborate with HR leaders to develop, maintain and audit core processes from hire to termination


Minimum Education

  • Associate’s degree preferred.


Minimum Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as HR generalist or related position.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong PC skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Office products and Company Specific Tools
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Identify and report triggers for compliance issues and recommend appropriate action
  • Provide resources to managers and Teammate Resource Leaders for counseling and conflict resolution with Teammates
  • Evidence of maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with managers and Teammate Resource Leaders to consistently and effectively ensure compliance with company policies and HR processes
  • Influence adoption and enforce compliance of HR processes and policies across the business, directly working with managers and Teammates to resolve issues of non-compliance
  • Stay educated and informed on changing macro and micro environment as it relates to HR business processes and employment law
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving and leadership skills
  • Proactively understand functional business areas and how they interact/overlap with each other
