About us:

Ascendant (ascendantbrands.com) is a team of professionals with expertise in managing every aspect of a consumer product business. We acquire segment-leading brands with strong intellectual property assets and reposition them for growth in both direct-to-consumer and retail channels.

Ascendant was founded by longtime Amazon business operators. We know the U.S.’s leading marketplace channel well and have great partners who help us manage it. What we know less well is efficiently winning customers through our Shopify-based websites. Here, too, we’ve got expertise in our circle, but we need more – for helping shape strategy and particularly with executing our ambitions in this sales channel. If you bring some years of know-how in digital marketing, maybe also Shopify operations management, we’ll challenge you with putting it to work while also elevating your understanding of how to smartly run Amazon and Shopify in parallel – the ecommerce professional’s dream.

What we’re looking for:

• Avid trial-and-error researcher who uses experimentation and iteration to optimize product merchandising, digital marketing and customer engagement.
• Effective collaborator, but also the ability to make progress autonomously.
• Reliable and resourceful problem-solver who anticipates a business’ challenges and works diligently to help address them.
• A passionate marketer and operations manager pursuing a career in digital marketing and/or ecommerce.
• Creativity and a sense of visual design; also strengths in written communication, including how to use authenticity, consistency, wit or other rhetoric to persuade.
• Commitment to implementing technology tools to progressively automate business processes.

What we expect:

• 3+ years of work experience in ecommerce with demonstrated capabilities in digital advertising management, including search and social.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to travel 4-6 times per year.
• Shopify management experience preferred; Amazon advertising and operations management experience a plus.
