Job Description
Nature's Sunshine seeks a warm and passionate HR People leader who cares about people and creates the best employee experience. As the Director of Human Resources, you will not just be managing policies and procedures but shaping the fabric of our corporate culture. The Director of Human Resources will lead our HR functions. In this role, you will collaborate with other leaders in the organization to develop and implement HR initiatives that align with our overall goals and objectives. This will include the acquisition of talent and ongoing development of our teams. They will build compensation structures, researching benchmark data to ensure we pay people competitively and are an employer of choice. They will make spreadsheets to create personalized total rewards packets, helping employees recognize the comprehensive benefits they receive. This role manages essential HR functions, ensuring the organization complies with all employment laws and regulations. To be successful in this role, you will want to elevate and build the HR function into a strategic partnership that works with all facets of the business. This will require excellent communication and influencing skills, along with considerable experience in the field. Responsibilities


  • Employee Development: They will collaborate with the VP of HR to build robust training initiatives for all leaders and employees, engaging them in personal development plans (PDP). Also, collaborate with key vendors to provide tools to help employees develop and scale up. T
  • Benefits and Employer of Choice: They will work with Benefit providers to ensure we have excellent benefits and position NSP as a sought-after employer. They will review monthly benefit budget reports and develop cost-saving strategies.
  • Performance Improvement Plans: Work with Management and engage in meaningful and transparent conversations to improve employee performance and navigate critical decisions such as disciplinary actions and even terminations when needed.
  • Employee Performance: Update and enhance performance reviews to ensure they are aligned with Must Win, Vital 3, and KPIs to ensure performance. Ensure leadership has regular one-on-one and department meetings to align priorities and drive results.
  • Culture of Trust: Build great employee and leadership relations. Become a valued manager of the Leadership team, building a culture of trust, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and innovation. Help Leaders become better leaders. Welcome new ideas from the front lines, and treat all employees with respect and inclusion. Build trust by setting an example and making good ethical decisions. Encourage leaders and employees to follow our code of conduct and always do the right thing.
  • Talent Acquisition Excellence: Ensure creation and maintenance of talent acquisition programs, including applicant tracking system and job posting tools. Work with Hiring Managers to regularly update job descriptions and postings to drive top talent to Nature's Sunshine. Collaborate with management to hire the best-fit candidates presenting job offers. Follow EEO guidelines and other legal standards.
  • Continuous Learning & Insights: Remain at the forefront of HR practices by consulting with industry experts, attending seminars, and synthesizing new legislative updates. Share the latest insights and trends with the team.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Welcome new employees and create the best employee experience. They will present new employee orientation/onboarding sharing critical information to help onboard new employees to become brand ambassadors. Work with the HR team to ensure background checks, drug screens, and onboarding documents. Also, making sure data is accurately entered into the HRIS system. They will conduct exit interviews and develop comparative reports on why people may leave.
  • Total Rewards: They will develop personalized complete rewards packets with excellent spreadsheet competencies, uploading data from our HRIS system to create individualized boxes to help employees see how NSP invests in their financial security, well-being, and future.
  • Executive Collaboration: Serve as a trusted HR advisor to the senior leadership, furnishing them with vital reports and insights. Provide counsel on critical personnel decisions.
  • Project Management and Execution: Work with the VP of HR to discuss needed projects and manage project assignments and deadlines to ensure the team achieves results.
  • HR Strategies and Leadership: Think strategically and develop HR initiatives that align with the budget and overall goals and objectives. Champion developing and implementing progressive human resource policies and programs that align with the organization's goals.
  • Compensation Expertise: Build competitive compensation structures, research benchmark data, and create comprehensive yearly compensation reports to ensure we are competitive, fair, and equitable in our pay practices. Provide management leveling and career growth information to retain top talent. Dive deep into competitive salary benchmarks and ensure employees are appropriately compensated. They will work with management to develop specific compensation analyses comparing internal peer data to ensure fair and equitable pay practices.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Lead out on various projects as needed.


Qualifications


  • Integrity: Uphold an unwavering commitment to confidentiality, recognizing the sensitive nature of HR responsibilities.
  • Experience: Eight to ten years of successful HR experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree MBA preferred.
  • HR Best Practices: Knows HR Best practices and specialized understanding of HR-Center of Excellence encompassing all its disciplines (Recruitment, Hiring, Compensation, HRIS, Benefits, Performance, Development, etc.)
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrate an intrinsic ability to forge meaningful connections across all NSP business units, supporting leaders and employees to drive results.
  • Compensation & Benefits Acumen: Experience building compensation and benefits.
