Job Description

The Director of Sales is a senior leadership position responsible for driving sales growth, building and leading a high-performing sales team and developing strategic sales initiatives in a 3PL company. This role demands a dynamic, results-oriented individual with a deep understanding of the logistics industry and a proven track record in sales leadership.


Responsibilities:


Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
  • Set ambitious but achievable sales targets and KPIs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the sales department.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of sales professionals, providing coaching and guidance to drive individual and team performance.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

  • Oversee the identification and targeting of potential clients to expand the customer base.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Sales Process Optimization:

  • Monitor sales performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Streamline and optimize sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement sales automation tools and technology as needed.

Revenue Growth and Forecasting:

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic pricing, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts to inform business decisions.

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market research.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all sales activities adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain service excellence.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the sales department's budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation.


Qualifications:


  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in logistics sales or a related industry.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute sales plans.
  • Deep understanding of logistics brokerage and freight management.
  • Adept at data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing sales teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales automation tools.
