The Director of People & Culture Role
The Director of People & Culture (“DPC”) acts as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director in the development and implementation of the CHP’s strategic human resources and cultural initiatives.The DPC is responsible for the professional growth and development of CHP’s employees, recruiting exceptional talent, and for establishing policies and procedures that promote a culture that attracts and retains talent.In addition to people and culture, oversight includes general business operations.This strategic position is a leadership role and participates as a member of the Executive Committee.This is a salaried, exempt position, reporting to the Managing Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Participate in identifying strategic initiatives that align with the vision, mission, and goals of CHP.Develop and administer tactical implementation plans to ensure goals are met successfully.
-Design, maintain, and oversee all human resources functions, ensuring CHP is compliant with all local, state and federal laws.Functions include benefits, payroll, recruiting, Total Rewards package design, employee onboarding and offboarding, and performance management.
-Design policies, training programs and initiatives that build and maintain a healthy workplace culture with a focus on respect, accountability, trust, and teamwork.Collaborate with other members of the CHP Executive Team to inspire and maintain a positive team culture.
-Cultivate an environment of learning, growth, and collaboration through team building events, educational opportunities, and individual coaching and mentorship to all employees.
-Manage direct report with a focus on feedback, accountability, and career path mentorship.
-Practice positive employee relations and facilitate an Open-Door Policy to ensure candid two-way communication between management and staff.
-Ensure all managers receive relevant manager training to ensure adherence to best practices and employment law.
-Oversee firm’s ongoing business functions, including budget management, expense policy management, vendor and contract management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, business insurance, reception, office supplies, technology, and facilities.
-Co-chairs CHP’s DEI & Volunteer Committee and represents management on CHP’s Health and Safety Committee.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management, or related field is required.
- PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM- CP or SHRM-SCP certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in human resources and/or business operations and at least five years of human resources experience in a leadership role required.
