Make an Impact as the VP of People and Culture


As the Vice President (VP) of People and Culture, you will work closely with the President/CEO and senior leadership to develop strategy and implement effective Human Resources operations to develop and support ChildCareGroup’s most important asset—its people.


In this role, you will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and share responsibility for leading and executing the strategic priorities of the organization in keeping with its Mission, Vision, Core Values, and its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The VP of People and Culture will help champion a people-focused, solutions-oriented human resources strategy that includes talent development, organizational and performance management practices that allow our entire organization to thrive.

Position Details


Responsibilities

  • Lead HR staff in communicating and upholding ChildCareGroup’s organizational culture

  • As a member of the CCG Senior Leadership Team, communicate and champion the mission, vision and strategy of the organization, and help develop and execute the agency’s strategic priorities
  • Model the ChildCareGroup Core Values – SPIRIT – and demonstrate the highest ethical standards and practices
  • Help to foster a high-performance culture that supports cross-departmental collaboration across the organization (e.g., silo busting)
  • Ensure alignment of HR policies and procedures with organizational values and goals
  • Build employee engagement and recognition strategies that build and maintain the ChildCareGroup culture
  • Utilize technology and appropriate resources to create efficiencies and streamline functions
  • Ensure compliance with all human resources laws and regulations
  • Implement HR technology strategy to ensure smooth business operations and employee engagement
  • Human Resources Expertise
  • Lead and supervise the People & Culture department to ensure best practices in system-wide HR programs including recruitment, onboarding, training, and benefits administration
  • Proficient in standard computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, HR management software systems - ADP)
  • Relationship Management
  • Develop overall strategy to meet current and anticipated future human capital needs
  • Oversee efforts to build employee engagement and satisfaction so as to be considered a Best Places to Work company
  • Develop and execute strategies to attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent in all areas of the agency
  • Oversee establishment of annual staff performance and development goals; Advise and support managers on coaching and mentoring staff and in providing ongoing performance management and talent reviews
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to the highest quality and ethical standard

  • Create conflict resolution strategies and processes throughout the organization
  • Establish professional development and training strategies to help mentor and develop staff members and build management skills
  • In partnership with the CEO, develop organization-wide communications on policies and practices.
  • Help support and promote CCG’s mission and objectives through a comprehensive human capital strategy
  • Responsible for HR compliance and minimizing legal and financial risk to organization
  • Maintain expert knowledge of key industry and organization metrics – 'know the business'
  • Serve as the influential voice for HR strategies, philosophies and initiatives within the organization
  • Uphold and reinforce the agency commitment to ethics, equity and inclusion; Implement strategies to promote diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the organization
  • Provide HR knowledge and expertise as part of organizational strategy and decision-making
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of ethics, laws, standards, legislation and emerging trends that may affect organizational HR practice
  • Align HR strategy, goals and objectives to overall business strategy and objectives; anticipate HR needs related to new business development


Education and Experience
  • Leadership and supervisory experience leading direct reports
  • Track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome- based team
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategies that have taken a program or organization to the next stage of growth
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees as well as Board members and the public
  • Experience must include the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, organizational culture or related field. Graduate degree and professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects at the same time, and meet deadlines
  • At least 10 years demonstrated and proven success in human resources, human capital management and/or organizational culture in increasingly responsible management positions with successful execution and track record and history of ethical, exemplary leadership.


Travel and Compliance Requirements


  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
