Company Overview:
We are a new, innovative consumer beauty brand from a well-known founder dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our customers to improve their skin. As we continue to expand our product portfolio and reach, we are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our team and drive the successful execution of our DTC operations.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced e-commerce "jack-of-all-trades" to lead our e-commerce functions. In this position, you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the company's functions as they align with its strategic priorities.
In this role, you will report directly to the CEO and plan, direct and execute all aspects of operations. You will spearhead our e-commerce strategy by leading and coordinating between our supply chain, marketing, product development, project management, and website development teams.
YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE RUNNING OPERATIONS FOR A DTC CONSUMER BRAND. Must have hands-on experience in operations, supply chain, retail, e-commerce, strategic planning, and finance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day ecommerce operations, maintenance, and performance measurement of the company websites.
- Interact with other key departments in a collaborative manner to ensure all departments are well-informed and in sync on ecommerce operations.
- Manage day-to-day business, reporting directly to the CEO.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Manage and oversee daily execution of company operations, including procurement, inventory management, order management, and logistic
- Monitor order flow between Shopify, order management system and 3PL to ensure that target fulfillment rates and metrics are met
- Oversee supply chain team and maintain strong working relationships with all contract manufacturers, suppliers, and 3PL partners
- Analyze performance and optimize all aspects of site experience to improve results (including SEO, Search, Desktop & Mobile UX, Comparison Shopping Engines, Retargeting, Reviews, and Klaviyo)
- Run P&L for the business.
- Work with the CEO to define the e-commerce strategy.
- Work with internal teams and vendors to improve, develop and advocate new promotional opportunities for the firm’s ecommerce products and services.
Requirements:
- Experienced in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization technique
- Ability to craft clear, compelling recommendations supported by strong analysis and business logic and articulate them to the organization to gain support for recommendations.
- Success in retail, omnichannel forecasting, planning, merchandising, and distribution
- 5 years of ecommerce experience
- Experience managing others and anticipating new hires
- Business planning and ecommerce strategy development
- College degree in related field
- Keyword searches, optimized web content, competitive tracking software, customer data analytics, web page design/layout, and website performance measurement
- Ability to lead by influencing others, especially in cross-functional and executive settings
- Experience managing DTC e-commerce supply chains, including raw ingredient suppliers, packaging suppliers, contract manufacturers, and 3PLs.
- Ecommerce growth strategies (paid / owned / earned / multichannel / multilocal / multi device / etc)
- Ecommerce business models and industry (trends, competitors, distribution channels, customer base, promotion, and products)
- 3 years experience running an e-commerce P&L
- Strong consensus and relationship-building skills balanced with an ability to drive initiatives forward
