Job Title: Director of Financial Operations
Position Reports to:Rock Lititz Campus General Manager
Position: Full-time, salaried position
POSITION MISSION: (The essence of the job)
Reporting to the Campus General Manager, this newly created position requires both hands-on and strategic connections to the business. The Director will be responsible for helping to grow the finance/accounting team, as the Rock Lititz brand grows.
POSITION OUTCOMES: (What must get done and how will we measure success)
Strategic Impact
- Provides business and financing modeling for new projects, evaluating trends in bank financing and alternative capital options, as needed.
- Recommends new financial metrics, as the business grows.
- Recommends new financial business systems and processes needed to scale a business for growth.
- Contributes a strong financial strategic perspective in helping to develop growth strategies for the businesses.
- Evaluates the need for re-financing, taking the lead on negotiating, assessing and securing the funding.
Day-to-Day Operations
- Responsible for the creation of financial statements and reports required for the bank and other financial institutions.
- Understands and is comfortable with managing inter-company transactions.
- Develops presentations required for owner board meetings.
- Supervises the Accounting team, offering direction and training, as needed.
- Owns the day-to-day finances of each of the Rock Lititz entities, managing Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables.
- Creates, performs and approves journal entries and accruals, for the month end closing, overseeing the entire process.
- Works with senior leadership in creating and tracking budgets, projections and forecasts for all Rock Lititz business entities.
- Connects with outside accounting firm on tax preparation or other paperwork needed to operate the businesses.
- Owns cash flow from budgets/projections to actuals throughout the fiscal year.
Construction Financial Management
- Analyzes cost reports, ensuring projects remain within budget.
- Works with bank throughout the construction project on paperwork and loan draw requests.
- Obtains financing for construction projects, exploring all options.
General
- Updates the documented system of accounting policies and procedures, as needed; implementing a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Maintains thorough and current understanding of GAAP.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
POSITION COMPETENCIES:
CRITICAL
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing, in person and over the phone for mutual understanding.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance tools and strategies employed by private and public corporations.
- Willingness to take on new tasks, while working on a small team and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to details are a must.
- Experience streamlining reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, specifically around providing feedback and growing talent.
- Accounting experience of at least 10 years as a senior accounting professional in a business setting.
- Organizational and project management skills a must
- Ability to manage multiple business entities, including those located in another state.
