Job Description

We are currently seeking a Director of Operations to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations and service delivery, as well as ensuring the overall financial performance of the self-perform service branches across the assigned territory.
Key Job Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all operations within the assigned territory, including P&L responsibility.
Provide guidance and support in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of operations and service teams.
Collaborate with the Regional Vice President to develop and execute strategy and policies.
Ensure alignment and continuity between operations and the sales team by partnering with the Director of Sales.
Communicate all operational and service-related activities effectively across the team.
Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and leaders across the territory to consistently exceed expectations.
Manage the overall financial performance of the branches in the assigned territory.
Drive profitable growth through optimization of operations and effective management of assets (people, financial, and material).
Analyze operational processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
Identify potential customers/markets within maintenance service operations.
Implement changes in pricing and gross margins.
Develop strategic operating plans for the self-perform branches in alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Coach Managers on appropriate levels of operating and overhead expenses incurred in service operations.
Take responsibility for accounts receivable with a focus on timely execution in the assigned region.
Serve as a communication channel to share best practices and results that enable growth.
Drive the effectiveness of service operations and make changes to improve performance, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and customer satisfaction is achieved.
Hold teams accountable for key performance indicators that drive business growth.
Manage process changes, enhancements, and modifications to facilitate the implementation of new or improved business processes.
Create and support an environment that motivates team members to provide high-quality, cost-efficient, customer-directed service and exceed performance targets.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Travel required up to 50% of the time across the assigned territory.
Key Performance Measurements
Performance scorecard tracking areas such as safety, project completion time, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
Management of team goals, including attitude, diligence, contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information.
Revenue from Equipment Installation and Maintenance Service Sales, with a focus on strong incremental improvement.
Gross Profit Revenue from Equipment Installation and Maintenance Services, also with a focus on strong incremental improvement.
Acquisition of new customers.
Growth of existing customer services utilized.
Effective implementation of key business initiatives in response to changing customer needs.
Other key metrics as prescribed by leadership, resulting in a positive impact on customers and the company.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Master’s Degree is a plus.
Experience managing a multi-site, geographically distributed workforce.
Operations experience in a branch-based service industry.
Direct management experience.
Previous success in Sales and/or Account Management is preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
Deep understanding of financial analysis, reporting, key business metrics, forecasting, and annual budgeting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven service environment.
Capability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and across remote offices.
Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, and to lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams.
Proven track record of accomplishments in measurable business metrics in collaborative environments.
Innovative leadership, communication, delivery, consultative, partnership, and team-building skills.
Mandatory travel within the region by car or airplane.
Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role may include wearing approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), carrying tools, using hands for maneuvering, handling or feeling, hearing, and talking. Walking and reaching with hands and arms may be frequently required, and occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must maintain a high level of self-awareness due to the presence of high voltage AC/DC power in the work environment.
Work Environment
This role may involve work in various locations, including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, refineries, and hospital settings. Employees may work closely with co-workers in an environment with a moderate level of activity. Exposure to high voltage AC/DC power is common. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
