Summary of Opportunity:
As a direct report of the Vice President, Agency Service, and member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) agency support team, the Director, Agency Service — Agency Growth holds primary and collaborative responsibility for supporting, coaching, and guiding Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agencies launching in new markets and / or expanding within existing markets across the country. The Director will operate as the first point of contact for targeted cohorts of “high readiness” agencies to accelerate growth and align with network-wide initiatives across key indicators within people development, capacity building, revenue, media, youth, and volunteers served. High readiness agencies are agencies that are ready to grow in physical footprint or through large scale programmatic impact and delivery.
They will also be accountable for providing responsive customer service, strategic consultation, and navigation support towards helpful BBBSA resources and subject matter experts within the network. As a key consultative and collaborative partner, this role will deliver a range of consultative services for BBBS leaders, their boards, and staff including, but not limited to organizational assessment, research, strategic planning, resource development, capacity building, agency growth, programmatic implementation, technology support and advancement of mentorship services.
Travel: Approximately 60%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and guide best practice and innovation sharing models across the BBBS network of agencies including the build of formal and informal mentor agency networks to better equip agency to agency peer coaching, support, and technical assistance.
- Promote targeted BBBSA services and offerings to generate greater adoption of high potential programs and services across major metro markets and generate sound measures of reach (youth served), relevancy (market penetration), revenue (fundraising) and resource (thriving organizations).
- Partner closely across the organization to assess, identify and facilitate new and / or existing market expansion including new agency start-ups in targeted areas of needs, developing deeper protocol and guidance on when and how to expand. Partner with the Program and Impact team on potential licensing model to support non-BBBSA affiliates with identified training, content, and support.
- Provide responsive customer service to all agency requests for support / direction, displaying empathy, adaptability, and accountability to addressing the evolving needs and priorities among agency leaders.
- Provide high-touch support and guidance to help assigned agencies achieve their goals for growth—including supports related to topics like new market assessments, competitive analyses, resource and capacity needs, partnership opportunities, etc.
- Promote targeted BBBSA services and offerings to generate greater adoption of high potential programs and services across major metro markets and generate advanced measures of reach (youth served), relevancy (market penetration), revenue (fundraising) and resource (thriving organizations).
- Serve as an advocate for agencies by surfacing common challenges they face and regularly share trends with the agency support team and BBBSA leadership.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned “high readiness” agencies launching in new markets and / or expanding in existing markets across the country.
- Partner closely with the agency support team and cross-functionally across BBBSA to understand national office priorities and available resources for agencies (e.g., toolkits, trainings, central staff expertise)
- Deliver a range of consultative services and capacity building supports to assigned agencies on topics including, but not limited to, new market assessment, research, strategic / growth planning, resource development, program implementation, technology, and advancement of mentorship services.
- Lead, analyze and provide best practice consultation in the results of an assessment for each organization within the Director’s assigned portfolio which should include, but not be limited to, structural, board, financial, community, risk, and/ or safety assessments.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Agency Services, Chief Agency Growth Officer and/or President and Chief Executive Officer.
- Deliver a range of consultative services and capacity building supports to assigned agencies on additional topics related to strategy and overall organizational effectiveness including, but not limited to, strategic planning, financial sustainability, program implementation, technology, and advancement of mentorship services.
- Support best practice and innovation sharing—in collaboration with the BBBSA agency support team—across the BBBS network of agencies.
- 1:1 (one-to-one) agency coaching and support

Education & Related Work Experience
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or professional experience
- Years of Related Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years in a relevant management-level position required, preferably in a nonprofit federated or similar affiliated model; experience leading organizational growth and impact in new or existing markets
Skills and Knowledge: Advanced interpersonal skills; Service-oriented mindset with excellent client relations, written and verbal communications; Ability to deliver relevant expertise and resources while building trust and rapport in a consultative, coaching relationship of direct or indirect influence; Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, timelines and budgets within fast-paced environment while maintaining a commitment to high quality, detail-oriented work; Ability to work independently in achieving results consistently on deadline; Excellent team working skills; ability to collaborate across teams; Ability to manage through complex issues with various stakeholders to desired outcome; Planning, analytical, organizational, and time management skills; Desire and ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and personalities displaying respect, maturity, and flexibility; Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
