Direct Procurement Manager, Central/South America Region

Work Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Job Summary:

• To strategically manage the regional direct procurement activities, and to provide oversight and direct negotiations with major suppliers, to oversee and to ensure supply from 3rd parties for both direct & indirect purchasing
• To optimize purchasing cost to support business growth to meet the margin target of the region
• To implement global procurement policy and good practice in the region

Responsibilities

• Lead regional negotiations for business terms and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
• Understand and monitor regional key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, and strategic importance of critical materials to implement appropriate sourcing strategies and achieve saving targets
• Create all aspects of a best-in-class Direct Procurement function for the region
• Lead continuous improvement in cost, delivery, and quality performance. Drive regular business reviews
• Collaborate with key regional business partners to set the strategic and tactical direction for sourcing efforts related to spend category, ensuring integration with the business vision and strategy
• Ensure adherence to company standards and values, business controls, ethics, policies and procedures, and professional standards
• Lead and coordinate regional direct procurement activities including supplier evaluations, site audits and continuous improvement process for all suppliers
• Locate, analyse, develop and maintain a consolidated regional supplier base to meet current and future needs of direct purchased materials and services
• And other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experienced in strong supplier performance management and contract administration
• Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
• Fluent in English, Spanish, & Portuguese
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with performing strategic sourcing and procurement activities for direct or indirect categories, financial analysis and project management
• Bachelor’s degree, Chemical related major
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 35% of time
• Experience with developing and implementing successful cost savings initiatives
