OVERVIEW
Supervise and direct assigned sales staff in a defined geographic zone within a region to ensure the zone achieves Bookings and Billings performance per assigned budget. Demonstrate sustained leadership and influence among peers and colleagues across all functional areas. Demonstrate excellence in presentation skills, negotiations, problem-solving, team building, and overall communications. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with VP, Region Sales, Executive Management, Zone/Area Service management, VP, Full-line National Sales, VP UL Sales, National Product Sales, VP, Strategic Business Group and all HQ employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of business and management principles: strategic planning, resource allocation, effective communication, leadership technique, organizational methodologies, and coordination of people and resources.
- Control expenses to ensure compliance with budget restrictions, as well as to ensure that expenses are reasonable in comparison to sales return.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with identified key accounts within the assigned zone.
- Ability to develop successful strategies to win new business and secure the installed base.
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Provide indirect supervision to the field Regional Business Managers.
- Knowledge of medical device industry, its products, customers and sales cycle.
- Ability to develop objectives, evaluate effectiveness, and assess needs.
- Work closely with the Sales Training team to ensure that AM's are provided foundational skills and product training as well as advanced development training to optimize overall performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relationships with others
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Skilled in leading and managing a sales team and working successfully with varying customers.
- Supervise and direct assigned sales staffs efforts to ensure zone achieves assigned Bookings and Billings performance per assigned budget.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasting. Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of Prospect Tracking System (PTS) or other business tracking system; track and report zone's financial achievements for zone as required.
- Skill in talent management: motivating, developing, directing employee work performance, as well as hiring new talent when required.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Executive Management, Zone/Area Service management, VP, Full-line National Sales, VP UL Sales, National Product Sales, VP, Strategic Business Group and all HQ employees.
- Coordinate site visits and sales meetings as required.
- Ability to understand and express opposing points of view while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
