Position Overview:
The Investments & Capital Markets (I&CM) Division at Freddie Mac provides liquidity to the U.S. Mortgage Markets and makes funding more available by purchasing mortgage-related securities guaranteed by Freddie Mac and other financial institutions by issuing corporate debt. The Debt Operations team supports the debt funding desk and is looking for an analytical individual who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable with numbers.
Our Impact:
The I&CM Debt Operations team is responsible for supporting mission critical processes of corporate debt issuance. We ensure that all debt transactions are confirmed, settled, recorded, reconciled, and reported in a timely and controlled manner.
Your Impact:
In this role, you will be an integral part of ensuring timely and accurate debt securities settlement and payment, and will be expected to
- Perform trade confirmation, settlement, clearance and reconciliation activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Serve as primary support to the Debt Funding trade desk. Support in all functions related to trade entry, data recording, ad-hoc analysis, and risk management.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment with documentation and procedures to facilitate effective settlement of debt securities in a timely and controlled manner.
- Collaborate with and communicate to external Brokers and Dealers and internal business partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; advanced studies/degree preferred.
- Basic understanding of corporate debt issuance and fixed income markets.
- Minimum 0-2+ years of experience in Fixed Income operations or middle office.

- Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously under high pressure situations and sensitive deadlines.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills!
- Experience working with data and data mining, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to balance baseline activities and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
