Position Overview:
Are you a seasoned leader with experience in credit policy, credit risk measurement principles, and risk assessment methodologies in Single-Family mortgage? Our Impact:
The Origination Credit Risk team provides independent assessments of material Single-Family acquisition credit risks, and using our robust business sense, collaboration and focused analytics, we support Freddie Mac’s balance of credit risk and mission objectives within the defined risk appetite.
Your Impact:
- Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operation's effective achievement of objectives
- Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
- Facilitate and manage the development of broad risk policies that translate risk appetite into more specific policies
- Ensure that documentation criteria are in accordance with internal standards as well as external regulatory and legal requirements
- Works on sophisticated issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company
- Responsible for coordination of risk processes and assessments that span risk types and require a consistent approach
- Responsible for developing, recommending, approving, communicating risk policies, and operational standards for the organization
- Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Responsible for crafting, managing and providing oversight of risk control and governance frameworks to demonstrate effective implementation of the Enterprise Risk Framework and Risk Policies and Standards
- Develop standards on risk by product or type of transaction as well as guidelines / parameters on aggregate risk levels. Policy is set based on the credit strength of the obligor, economic conditions and the firm or division's risk tolerance
- Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria of projects, programs and people
- Develops and reviews existing policies and procedures to help ensure their appropriateness and adequacy against industry practices and regulatory requirements
- Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area
- Monitor the consistency and adequacy of policy application. Develop review and approve procedures as applicable.
Qualifications:
- 15+ related experience and 8+ years management experience
- College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred

- Champions the culture and attitudes, and actively promotes and models the critical supporting behaviors
