Job Description
The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve systems of democracy and justice in the United States. We work to hold our political institutions and laws accountable to the twin American ideals of democracy and equal justice for all. Brennan Center’s work ranges from voting rights to campaign finance reform, from ending mass incarceration to preserving Constitutional protection in the fight against terrorism. Part think tank, part advocacy group, part cutting edge communications hub, we start with rigorous research. We craft innovative policies. And we fight for them – in Congress and the states, the courts, and in the court of public opinion.
The Brennan Center uses Salesforce and Pardot to meet growing contact management demands across the organization, specifically in fundraising, digital communications, and advocacy. Reporting to CRM Database Manager, the CRM Database Coordinator will support on-going administration of the database, assist with user support and training, and work to maintain data hygiene. This position will help power communications, digital outreach, event management, fundraising, and advocacy activity for the organization. This person will also work with the CRM Database Manager to establish organizational standards and processes for data management and partner with staff to creatively maximize Salesforce capabilities for all parts of the Brennan Center – driving toward overall organizational goals.
Note: Brennan Center employees adhere to a hybrid schedule that is subject to change, with most employees currently working in the office a minimum of three days per week. This position is based at our headquarters in New York City.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in finding creative solutions to arising needs – researching third-party tools, reading online articles and/or forums, utilizing online training resources.
  • Work to establish and execute data quality standards and data maintenance procedures;
  • Gain expertise on various third-party data management tools and key Salesforce integrations and applications;
  • Support with staff in fundraising, communications, and programs to leverage Salesforce capabilities;
  • Act as primary Salesforce helpdesk providing technical support for users and managing Salesforce-related support inquiries from employees;
  • Ensure data integrity by merging duplicate records, performing mass uploads, and updating data, as required;
  • Assist with user trainings (initial and continuing) keeping in mind the goals of data hygiene, organizational efficiency, and organizational change management;
Qualifications:
  • Passion for accuracy and strong attention to detail; experience with mass-data management/manipulation a plus;
  • Strong people skills and ability to collaborate effectively with users from different teams and with ranging technical capabilities and needs; ability to translate between people and systems;
  • Creative thinker and solutions orientation, an enthusiasm for troubleshooting;
  • Resiliency, optimism, and a commitment to cultivating a positive work environment;
  • Nonprofit experience strongly preferred, but not required;
  • 1-3 years of experience using or administering a CRM system or database in an organization with diverse data needs; experience with Salesforce a plus, but not required;
  • Technical savvy; a love of data and its uses; curiosity about the capacity of computer systems;
  • Commitment to democracy, justice, and issues of the rule of law.
  • Experience with database conversion/roll-out preferable, but not required;
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle effectively among many demands; excellent organizational skills;

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range assigned for this position is $78,000 - $84,000. We determine our salary ranges based on market competitiveness and internal equity for each job. The salary offered a selected candidate will be contingent upon the candidate’s qualifications and internal equity considerations.
