PURPOSE OF POSITION
To collect data for the review and assessment of the department, facility-wide and Board Report Indicators in order to insure compliance with standards of care, and regulatory and accreditation agency requirements.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is the liaison between the QM Department and clinical services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and administrative meetings, as required.
- Attend assigned Committee meetings and communicates quality Issues to Committees and Quality Management Associate Director.
- Data entry of review findings into the Quality Management Database.
- Perform Performance Improvement studies and prepare for reports of the same.
- Follow-up on corrective actions and evaluate outcome.
- Conduct daily concurrent and retrospective review process utilizing review instrument.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
- Communicate with patient care staff and initiate corrective action on identified variations (i.e., discuss variation with responsible clinician)
- Participate in monthly staff development meetings,
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical staff to effect the review process in assigned areas.
- Ensure accuracy of data, statistics and outcome reports as a result of the clinical review process. Initiate corrective actions if necessary.
- Keep Associate Director abreast of issues identified during chart reviews.
- Assist in the preparation of the Board Report and HHC Indicators as assigned.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete all Quality Management Activities with a positive and pleasant attitude conductive to the workplace to enhance and further the mission, vision and value statement of the facility,
- Complete other duties / responsibilities as assigned
- Meet all regulatory compliance standards/requirements, such as, annual physical evaluation, annual mandated training, right to know training, fire drill participation, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling, and three (3) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, two (2) years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician or three (3) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two (2) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
2. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed in (1), and two (2) years of full-time experience as listed in (1), plus one (1) year experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations as listed in (1); or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Note: Certification or licensure may be required.
