At Project Lead The Way (PLTW), we are empowering students to thrive in an evolving world. We know that U.S. students must develop the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the workforce, solve important challenges, and contribute to global progress. We know that teachers need support in empowering students to build these skills. Through our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, PreK-12 students learn problem-solving strategies, critical and creative thinking, and how to communicate and collaborate.
The Content Strategist & Copywriter is responsible for developing the voice of PLTW through compelling, relevant messaging. The role will be equal parts copywriter and content strategist, building on existing PLTW content assets and strategically determining new opportunities to engage the audience, influencing them to progress through the customer journey. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and storytelling, working collaboratively to develop strategic and consistent messaging and content across multiple channels.
There are two Content Strategist & Copywriter positions available. One position will support our Communications Team while the other will support the Marketing Team.
PLTW IS SEEKING TWO CANDIDATES WITH:
- Expertise in copywriting, journalism, and/or content creation.
- A passion for developing sound content strategies, determining message hierarchies, and contributing to customer experiences that communicate the right message to the right audience at the right time in alignment with Company objectives and brand.
- A passion for practicing and embracing diversity of thought, culture, and experience.
- Proven track record of ability to consistently meet deadlines as part of being results driven.
- Excellent creative writing skills; high editorial standards and proofreading skills, including a deep knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
- Excellent judgment and ability to adapt to changing priorities with ease and efficiency.
- A deep understanding of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as it relates to writing for the web. (Marketing Team Only)
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field of study, or equivalent related experience.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to create high-quality content that reinforces the Organizations brand position, desired customer journey, and product strategies and goals.
- A customer-centric approach to all internal and external interactions.
- Demonstrated experience in working independently, resourcefully seeking answers, and strategically remove obstacles.
- The drive to manage existing content, analyze gaps that may exist, identify updates that may be needed, and determine opportunities for new content.
- Desire to identify and recommend potential opportunities to incorporate innovative methods and emerging trends within profession and related field.
- A passion for proficient storytelling with the desired talent to simplify complex stories and concepts.
- The desire to conceptualize, develop, and write content to influence customer behavior.
