Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare to provide support services for children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

To better the lives of children and adults in Harris County.
Performs a variety of administrative activities including coordinating information and resources to support departmental operations and goals. Utilizes automated systems to input, process, monitor, and identify discrepancies in data/records relevant to departmental operations and services. Maintains communications with internal and external individuals and entities for the purposes of obtaining needed information, reconciling issues, or assisting with information requests. Responds to department-related questions and issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Submits required reports, documents, track and reporting metrics, and other related materials to ensure the usage and effectiveness of communication channels; identifies areas of opportunity and improvement and provides recommendations to management.
- Management may, at its discretion, assign, or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Reviews and updates the public website, employee SharePoint, and other related content and communication to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Serves as a knowledgeable point of contact for the department in areas related to social media engagement and marketing; provides guidance and support to management and external partners with raising awareness, building meaningful connections, and building, implementing, and managing campaigns across all social media platforms.
- Maintains the agency's Speakers Bureau through staff recruitment, training, and coordination of presentations in the community.
- Coordinates and collaborates with other key staff members or programs to complete projects from initial concept to distribution; ensuring that all postings are relevant, accurate, and grammatically correct.

- Collaborates with the Senior Communications Manager to design, draft, and produce a variety of creative and high-quality communication material which includes internal announcements, agency collateral materials, video scripts, newsletters, signage, presentations, agency events, and other related projects.
- Coordinates logistics, plans, implements, and participates in resources fairs, kickoffs, and other internal and external events ensuring that high-quality content is being captured for social media, newsletters, or website purposes.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications or other related field from an accredited university
- Two (2) years of full-time paid experience working with social media platforms and news media.
- Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Licensure:
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license (Texas) and auto liability insurance
- Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Knowledge of online marketing and experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, and social analytics tools.
- Knowledge in planning, managing, and implementing social media initiatives and understanding of its use and role in business.

- Knowledge of multi-media and multi-faceted communications strategies and techniques.
- Analytical thinking/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

- $43,596.80-$59,009.60 (Annually)
- Based on 26 Pay Periods
- Plus Mileage Reimbursement
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
