JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:Clinical SpecialistNortheast US
REPORTS TO:Business Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Western US preferred, field based position: Educate doctors, surgical staff and RIWOspine sales personnel in the proper use of RIWOspine endoscopic equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise hands-on labs, including set-up, tear-down, and cleaning
- Coverage of surgical cases for product evaluations and installation of new equipment
- Existing account support
- Instruct surgeons in the classroom and at lab stations.
- Follow up with doctors and stakeholders as needed.
- Provide feedback to the territory sales personnel regarding the cases.
- Provide any in-servicing as required by the staff.
- Help with set-up of laboratory equipment and lab stations.
- Ensure any loaner equipment is cleaned and returned to RIWOspine.
- Educate stakeholders (doctors, OR management, OR staff, SPD, etc.) on the RIWOspine techniques, equipment and proper usage and care of the equipment.
- Provide technical and clinical support during cases.
- Tear-down lab stations, clean and pack equipment.
- Develop training materials as needed.
- Meet with the surgeon and attend a surgical case if possible.
- Meet with the surgeon prior to the case to discuss the surgery.
- Develop training materials as needed.
- Periodically visit existing customers and key accounts
- Assist in running corporate training events.
- Visit new sales reps in the field for training and surgical case observation.
- Education of doctors, including assisting with RIWOspine workshops
- Follow up with doctors as needed.
- Ensure equipment at the facility is complete and in good working condition.
- Training of RIWOspine sales representatives
- Give presentations and demonstrations on anatomy, surgical techniques, and use of instrumentation and equipment.
- Ensure all necessary equipment is at the facility and in good working order.
- Provide feedback to the sales team on any concerns and any possible additional training and equipment needs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties as assigned by Business Manager.
- Assist in developing training materials (presentations, quick reference cards, training videos, etc.)
- Aware of and comply with RIWOspine Quality processes and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
- 80%+travel required (local and overnight stays)
- Document RIWOspine and clinical activities on social media
- Attend trade shows and educate surgeons on RIWOspine techniques and products at the booth and hands-on courses
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Lift/Carry 35 pounds
- Experience in operating room and with OR protocol.
- Infectious Disease Exposure
- The following physical demands are required:
- Ability to work weekends (approx. 10-20 Saturdays and/or Sundays per year)
- Ability to work with a variety of different customers and personalities.
- X-Ray Exposure
- Experience with and understanding of cross-cultural differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment.
- Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day
- Knowledge of spine anatomy and spine surgical techniques.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Surgical Technology, or other related field or a Bachelor’s Degree in business or a healthcare-related field.

- Three years experience in the healthcare field.
