**Reporter**

who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Cut through the jargon to tell Post readers the compelling stories in a down-to-earth voice
• Break exclusive stories on a competitive beat
• Regularly work out of City Hall with focus on the Mayor’s Office and City Council

Ideal Candidates Will

• Have investigative skills, including knowledge of city contracts, lobbying records, etc.
• Have strong news-gathering skills and be able to quickly write clear, concise, accurate copy
• Come into the position with solid city government sources and expand on them in the new administration
• Have at least three years of experience in a major, breaking news operation-print newspaper experience a plus
• Flexibility to cover important matters on weekends and evenings, as needed
• Have covered the Mayor’s Office, City Council or other facets of New York City or major government offices
• Have a working knowledge of SEO and social-media best practices

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work model.

**Salary Range: $31,200 – $125,000**
