Position
YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
The City Manager is responsible for achieving market sales objectives, profitability goals, achieving and maintaining high operational and merchandising standards, building highly motivated Store Managers & teams.
The City Manager is responsible for the overall operations and business development of the West Coast region of the US; up to 6 FSS and Off-Price Boutiques. This role reports to the General Manager EMEA & USA
Your Impact
Business Vision:
- Partner with corporate partners to support expansion and all key elements of new store openings in the Region
- Partner with Sr. Management to create the vision and tone for stores while driving a highly successful and profitable business
- Be knowledgeable of the local market and business environment trends to include competitors’ business activities
- Work with Store Leaders to develop market specific business plans that will drive traffic and develop client base for stores
Leadership
- Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate key responsibilities and practices to Store Management team to ensure smooth flow of operations within region
- Manage with integrity, honesty, fairness, and knowledge promoting the culture, values, and vision of KENZO & LVMH
- Develop Store Management teams within region to deliver superior customer experiences in all stores
- Review store environments and key business indicators within region to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and provides coaching to store management team to take action and achiever operational goals
Sales Management/ Store Performance
- Continuously motivate and coach Managers & teams to meet assigned sales and productivity goals
- Develop strategies to capitalize on sales and improve customer experience (displays, traffic patterns, etc.)
- In partnership with corporate office, develop and create a process to review the CRM strategy and define requirements/expectations as well as performance measures
- Performance monitoring by reviewing sales weekly with Store Leaders
- Develop and evolve standardized staffing model to better align employee scheduling to store traffic
Client Focus
- Provide feedback to Merchandising team on product assortment, buying trends and customer requests
- Work with Store Leaders to achieve sales goals
- Ensure the highest level of customer service is being provided in regional stores
Staff Development & Teambuilding
- Partner with Human Resources to identify skill gaps and opportunities for staff development
- Delegate duties and responsibilities to foster a sense of ownership among Store Managers and to increase efficiency of store operations
- Responsible for personnel matters including hiring and termination. Build a bench to secure an effective management and sales succession
- Ensure consistent management, operational practices and customer service in all stores in area
- Mentor and coach Store Leaders on identifying solutions and adapting to respective store and to develop their managerial skills
- Oversee staffing and recruiting in close cooperation with Human Resources and Store Leaders
Store Visuals
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained as set forth by corporate visual department
Profile
Keys For Success
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
Experience:
- Product experience in luxury or high-end retail is highly desirable and specifically Leather Goods (LG), Ready-to-Wear (RTW) and/or shoe experience is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years prior experience in a retail environment, preferably in luxury
- 3-5 years’ experience with multi-store management; professional experience in a leading network expansion is a plus
Competencies:
- Proven leadership skills - ability to motivate sales teams with a clear set of challenging objectives
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Must have strong computer skills
- Exceptional organization skills
- Ability to drive the business of KENZO US
Work Requirements:
- Candidate is required to spend a minimum of 80% of time working in and traveling to stores in region
- Candidate may need to be based out of a home office
The compensation for this position ranges from $160,000 - $200,000 annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
