The New York Post Digital Network seeks a detail-oriented Commerce Writer/Reporter with a commercial mindset to work across our various outlets including New York Post, Page Six, Decider, and Alexa, and play a crucial role in executing our commerce editorial strategy.
In this role, you will create exceptional service-first revenue-driven content that resonates with our audience and guides them in making smart purchasing decisions. Reporting to the Commerce Editorial Director, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our rapidly-growing digital commerce division within a dynamic and respected national media brand.
We are looking for a passionate writer with a commercial mindset, a strong understanding of our audience, and the ability to engage them through compelling storytelling. Responsibilities include:
- Write a minimum of 10 stories a week about product roundups and reviews, gift guides, and other commerce content.
- Monitor trending news stories and identify commerce content opportunities and execute on deadline
- Consistently scour the internet for the best deals of the day
- Monitor and analyze data to help improve results
- Work closely with the Commerce Editorial Director to make informed content decisions based on strategic initiatives and data analysis
- Maintain contacts with PR agencies, affiliate managers, and relevant experts as sources
- Follow an editorial calendar consisting of tentpole shopping events, sales, shopping moments, and evergreen stories
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong writing skills are a must – commerce and affiliate content writing experience are a plus
- The ability to craft stories with the goal of driving readers to retail sites
- Familiarity with affiliate linking and SEO best practices
- The ability to extract relevant data points to help drive initiatives and pivot your strategies
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, and a clear vision of how to prioritize work
- General understanding of commerce editorial KPIs (revenue, conversion rate, etc.)
- At least 1-2 years of lifestyle and news writing experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment

Salary Range: $32,100 – $125,000
