Gma Digital Reporter - Abc

Good Morning America is hiring a Digital Reporter to join the GMA Digital team. The Digital Reporter will be responsible for curating, writing and programming our daily GMA newsletter, writing video headlines and reporting and writing daily stories that correspond with the GMA broadcast and appear on Goodmorningamerica.com.

This position works Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. PT - 7 p.m. PT or 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. ET. Open to candidates based in New York or Los Angeles who will be hybrid members of the team, coming into the ABC News Bureau.

Candidates must have experience as a digital writer/reporter creating stories that engage a mobile lifestyle audience. We are looking for someone with impeccable editorial judgment who is deeply collaborative and excited about all types of lifestyle content. This person should be able to write-up broadcast interviews with high-profile guests or public figures, report out the latest uplifting human interest feature or cover a new TikTok trend. This person must be able to meet daily deadlines and juggle multiple assignments in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

In the role, the reporter will also be responsible for working with the GMA broadcast producers and social teams on cross-platform series and projects, such as GMA Book Club, and contributing to special events coverage from Oscars to elections and more.

This role works collaboratively with the GMA Digital video and social teams to create complete multi-media packages that live across all of our platforms. An understanding of best SEO practices and approaching digital content from a multimedia perspective is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute to news coverage for special GMA or network events, including awards shows or other tentpoles
• Coordinate with GMA broadcast on a daily basis and organize assignments
• Write original stories in key verticals for GMA Digital growth
• Write daily stories that align with GMA broadcast segments, pieces or interviews to appear on Goodmorningamerica.com
• Working collaboratively with the GMA broadcast producers on cross-platform series/franchises
• Write daily video headlines for GMA show segments
• Curate, write and program daily newsletter
• Pitch, report and write stories on a daily basis that engage the GMA digital audience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Team player and collaborative self-starter
• Excellent time-management, organizational and planning skills with an impeccable attention to detail
• A willingness to work collaboratively with members of the GMA digital and broadcast teams and take direction on all editorial decisions
• Adherence to the highest standards of journalism
• Strong familiarity of SEO practices preferred and a deep knowledge of what content performs well for a lifestyle brand
• Minimum 2 years of experience writing for an online media brand in a fast-paced news environment meeting daily deadlines
• Strong digital writing skills with interest in covering lifestyle content

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $75,200 to $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
