As a business systems analyst, senior on the Business Operations team, you will …


  • Contribute to the success of Starbucks as an agent of change and continuous improvement through delivery of transformational projects that improve partner, store and customer experience and efficiency.
  • Leverage your expertise to develop, deliver, sustain, and support critical business systems and processes for the Real Estate, Design and Construction functional areas.


Responsibilities and essential job functions of Business Operations Product Delivery include but are not limited to the following:


  • Partners with business and functional support teams to facilitate sessions to communicate new system functionality, plan change management activities to mitigate business impact, minimize disruptions, and ensure end user understanding.
  • Define and create user personas to understand key traits, behaviors, goals, responsibilities, and needs of a specific type of user.
  • Lead the development of scripts for user acceptance testing efforts. Facilitates user acceptance training and tracks observations and issues to resolution.
  • Apply project management skills, tools and techniques to business project activities to meet project goals and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Tracks and prioritize issues for resolution or add to backlog.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, IT partners, functional analysts, and vendors to drive and deliver road-mapped project replacement, system changes and/or process improvements.
  • Compile metrics, and conduct root cause analysis to identify system gaps / deficiencies; document business requirements and develop user stories that require a business, technical, or blended approach for resolution.
  • Participates in product delivery and launch activities, including testing, provide updates for sponsor and steering teams, quarterly release communications (as appropriate), training development and delivery, high-touch support and post-launch feedback sessions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cross-functional teams to provide recommendations on new initiatives or projects.
  • Facilitate engagement with Business Teams and SME’s; document existing process; use cases and point points / challenges.


We’d Love To Hear From People With


  • 2 years Project management experience, informal or formal.
  • Experience supporting one or more of the functional areas noted.
  • 5 years’ experience supporting change management and continuous improvement.
  • 5 years’ experience with moderately complex systematic improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with regional, support and technology partners.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in standard business communication tools (ie, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel/Smartsheet, collaboration tools).
